The weather was magnificent, we had 60 cars on display this time, which was a great roll-up for the club. Paul White and JT had the tricky job of working out who had the best set of wheels in the original and modified categories.
Firstly, we would like to thank the helpers who put in a huge effort to keep the bacon & egg breakfasts happening and then it was onto snags and onions for lunch.
Mike Heiser cleaned up beautifully by winning the Dennis Stainer perpetual trophy in the ‘Top Original’ category with his stunning white HK GTS 327 Monaro coupe. Adrian Jensen did likewise by winning the trophy in the ‘Top Modified’ category, with his equally awesome red 355ci HJ GTS coupe. This perpetual trophy came complete with a mean set of miniature gold plated extractors, which were mounted on a wooden back board. The trophy was donated by one of club sponsors/members Peter Denman of Morphett Vale Exhaust. Thanks must also be divvyed out to Peter for his help in setting up the club display tent. Craig Gandy cleaned up nicely again by winning the ‘Top Associate’ trophy, for non-Monaro vehicles with his excellent HK Kingswood.
Bruce and Ken said that they’ve had lots of calls from those who had attended our show, such as a guy from the 55,56 and 57 Chev Club. He said that he was very impressed with the professional manner in which we’d put the show on and the quality of the cars on display. Thanks to everyone who contributed to another fine show. They know who they are.
