We had 150 Monaros roll up for one of our biggest shows of the year. The weather was magnificent so Monaro owners had no excuses not to bring out their cars and show them off.
We had Adrian, Alan, Mark and Big Pete on the barby working overtime meeting the demand for snags and drinks and
the event raised $656 for Canteen , an excellent result for all concerned. Thanks must go to Pete's daughters for all their efforts handling the goody bags at the gate.
The two peice rock and roll band provided some great background music setting the scene for an excellent night. The vendors at the trade stands had plenty of interest from the crowd as did our magnificent machines on display.
A big thunbs down to the ferals that did the burnouts towards the end of the evening. The residents didn't take too kindly to that sort of behaviour and hopefully Le Cornus don't take it against us for next year. These clowns make life difficult for members that were doing the right thing.
At around 7:30pm it was time to cruise. This consisted of a run to the Bay via Anzac Hwy back to the city then Port Adelaide via Port Rd, along the cost to Colonnades for a drinks break and a chat. It was fun for Ken trying to find winners for the raffles and he found creative ways to give out the prizes. Next it was on to the Expressway to Portrush Rd to Magill, then back to Nort Tce and to Le Cornus again. At this stage there were some hungry cruisers so the barby was fired up again for some supper.
Well done to all those who helped out, you know who you are, and thanks to everyone who made the journey from a far as Pt Augusta and the South East.
